TOMORROW NIGHT! Games will get played UP.

OK - things are getting exciting! Our first little event is going down tomorrow night and I'm psyched. We will likely be playing many sweet games, likely including but not limited to...

Wrath of Ashardalon,, a D&D adventurey, cooperative boardgame
Scrabble - with some Scrabble GENIUSES
Blood Bowl, like tournament style
Munchkin, classic fantasy RPG parody card game
Ghost Stories, a wicked coop game set in Ancient China

And other stuff. Too fun.

Also! I've got some secret prizes for a raffle. The way I'll do it is you pay $5 a chance, and you will get a little paper ball. Inside is one of four dice - a d6, d8, d12, or d20. There will be mostly d6's but one each of the others. A d20 means you get first choice at three prizes:

A large d20 (like 2.5" across - a lovely desk piece)
Immortal Hero - a fun card game
A $20 gift certificate from Compleat Strategist

This is gonna be nuts all around. Looking forward to the fun. And because these posts look kinda boring here's a trailer for the new sweet-ass lookin' Conan movie!

Just cast the social networking spell and I'm spent...

Man - these seasonal allergies SUCK. I'm coughing like a Viking and drained of energy. But not drained enough to hit Facebook, Twitter and Meetup with info about this little event!

If you are just coming here from one of these sources - huzzah! Hale and well met.

We've so far got at least 6 people who will be on the scene making it happen; I'd love to get another 20+ folks in on it.

Gamers & Givers is HAPPENING...

Hey - I'm Adam and I had this idea. A friend of mine needs money to help out some people in need, and I figured I could gather up some gamers in NYC - the RPG/boardgame community of which I am a part - to come out, play some games, and donate a modest sum toward this worthy cause. And this is it!

Gamers & Givers
a night of gaming for charity

@ 440 Studios, 440 Lafayette (Manhattan, NY)
Saturday, June 11th
6pm to 11pm
Entry fee - $20 (all proceeds - minus space rental - goes toward the Fly Leigh To Ubushobozi, part of the Ubushobozi Project)

I am planning for between 30 and 40 gamers to attend, in a big rehearsal space with a bunch of big tables and chairs. I've never done this before! So I'm sure there will be some wonky logistics here and there but in the end I'll bet any amount that we will have a great time, meet some great people and do it again before to long. Watch this space for updates, news and info.

Thanks!
